Invitational History
Townsend was a member of the 2000 U.S. Olympic Team and a member of three World Championships teams (1999, 2001-02). He co-owns a gymnastics academy in Pearland and is the Houston Gymnastics Academy's Men's Head Team Director where he leads an amazing group of coaches and several national team members. He establisted TCI in 2013 with the vision of inspiring furture atheletes and expanding the sport.

Awards
The invitational will honor the Sydney Games' recent 20th anniversary. Each session will be concluded with the awarding of a historic replica of the medal given at those Games in Sydney where Sean competed. The award is given to the athlete with the highest individual score in each session.
